Eloshon Scraper: scrape products from a public website into a structured catalogue

Not every migration starts from a clean export. A supplier, an old shop without admin access, a site nobody has the file for: to scrape that website, Eloshon Scraper reads the public product pages and turns them into structured data, ready for Eloshon Converter or for your own tools. It also downloads the images and videos of a page, each tied to its original post.

What comes out

A CSV or JSON file, one product per row, with the fields an e-commerce catalogue expects:

  • Name
  • Reference / SKU
  • Price
  • Currency
  • Availability
  • Description
  • Brand
  • Category
  • Images
  • Variants
  • GTIN/EAN identifier
  • Source URL

Use cases

  • Migration without an export

Rebuild the catalogue of a shop whose access was lost or whose platform exports nothing usable.

  • Supplier or wholesaler feed

Collect the product sheets of a supplier that only provides a site, not a file, before converting them to your shop's format.

  • Inventory and control

Snapshot an online catalogue to compare prices, stock and product sheets with your own data.

The Scraper on screen

The steps of a scraping in the Windows app, on real scrapings of a public website: from the form to the results, then the settings.

New scraping — an address and a source are enough; the settings are optional.
Scraping in progress — progress, counters and products processed live.
Scraping complete — summary of accepted, to-review and excluded products, then export or results.
Results — each product with its status, before the CSV or JSON export.
Jobs — each scraping can be reopened, resumed or run again.
Settings — language, theme, engine defaults, licence and site recipes.

Download the images and videos of a page

With the software and the extension, Eloshon Scraper saves the images and videos of many kinds of websites on your computer. Each file stays tied to its original post: address, ID, author, date, text and hashtags, in a medias.csv and medias.json file.

  • The extension reads the page
In Chrome or Edge, the extension reads the posts the page shows and hears the videos the page loads, then sends the list to the software.
  • The software downloads and files
The Eloshon Scraper software, installed on Windows, downloads the files one by one into a folder (by default Downloads\Eloshon Scraper), with names that say where they come from.
  • A medias.csv table
One row per file: the post's address, ID, author, date, text, hashtags, quality and the file's fingerprint.

X (Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Reddit… and other pages

For web data extraction, the Scraper reads the shape of a page, not one particular site. It downloads videos and images from posts, but also reads car listings, shops, blogs or lists of accommodation. No platform is guaranteed: sites change, and some protect their videos or ask for a login.

  • Social networks
  • Video sites
  • Car, motorbike and van listings
  • Online shops
  • Blogs and articles
  • Accommodation and bookings
  • Feeds and forums

What is never downloaded

  • Protected videos (DRM, encrypted streams): marked “protégé” in medias.csv, never gotten around.
  • A video that only the page's own player can play is picked up only if the page was loaded with the extension's panel open.
  • You remain responsible for copyright and for each site's terms of use.

Three ways a site exposes its products

The tool adapts to the shape of the page, never to a particular site: no rule specific to one retailer.

  • Data embedded in the page
The product list is already in a JSON block of the page (application state): a single listing page holds everything.
  • Marked-up product page
The product page exposes a Product schema (JSON-LD or microdata) — the case of Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop and most classic shops.
  • Catalogue loaded through an API
Products are not in the HTML but arrive as JSON responses after load; the tool observes those responses and uses them as a structured source.

Recognised shop platforms

The Scraper recognises these platforms by their signs (scripts, forms, address shapes) and reads each in its own way: prices, variants, barcodes, images. Almost all of these methods were written from real shops opened one by one, then checked on real pages.

  • Shopify
  • WooCommerce
  • Magento 2
  • PrestaShop
  • nopCommerce
  • CS-Cart
  • osCommerce / xt:Commerce / modified
  • JTL-Shop
  • BigCommerce

For any other site, it reads the product data that many pages publish for Google (JSON-LD, microdata) or looks for the product cards itself. Details, versions and limits: Platforms and sites already known

How the tool works

  • An analysis before extraction
The site is analysed first: which page shape, how many products expected, which fields are available. The extraction must then deliver what the analysis announced.
  • A report of what is missing
Every run states what was captured, what could not be and why — a missing field is flagged, never filled with a plausible value.
  • Within the rules
Only public information is read. Use of the collected data must comply with the site's terms of access and applicable regulations; sites cited as examples are neither clients nor partners of Eloshon.

A free scraper, without AI or proxies

During the beta, Eloshon Scraper reads websites for free, from your computer. To find the name, price, images, variants or barcode, it needs no artificial intelligence, no proxy and no VPN: it recognises the shape of the page and the platforms it already knows. AI assistance only steps in as a last resort.

  • No AI
Free reading uses no artificial intelligence. Assistance, when it is switched on, is only a last resort, when the methods without AI are not enough.
  • No proxy, no VPN
Free reading starts from your computer, with your own connection: no proxy network, no VPN. Assisted unblocking, which is paid and only starts when you click, is kept for protected sites.
  • Product pages and next pages included
Every product page and every next page of a list is read at no cost, to complete the description, variants, references and images.

From public site to converted catalogue

Public site without an export → Eloshon Scraper → structured data (CSV/JSON) → Eloshon Converter → import files for Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix or BigCommerce. The two programs are designed to chain together.
