All the Converter’s transformation formulas
All the transformations that Edit the data and Edit the output file offer, sorted as in the app’s list, with their exact texts. Keep this page close at hand when you are looking for the right transformation.
Checked against the software on November 1, 2026
You add a transformation at the Mapping step, with the Add a transformation button (for the columns of your file, before the conversion) or the Edit the output button (for the columns of the file that will be imported, after the conversion). The method step by step, with examples: Edit, remove or adapt the data.
How to read the tables: the first column gives the name of the transformation in the What to do? list; the second, the sentence the app shows under this list; the third, the formula shown on the Google Sheets equivalent: … line, where A2 means “the cell being transformed”; the last one, the fields to fill in, with their names in the window. The transformations of the first four groups apply to one column, or to all of them with All columns.

| Change the separator | Replaces a separator (e.g. “|”) with another, trimming the spaces around it. | TEXTJOIN(" "; TRUE; SPLIT(A2; "|")) | Current separator · New separator |
| Remove repeated parts | Splits the cell on a separator and keeps each part once. | TEXTJOIN(" | "; TRUE; UNIQUE(SPLIT(A2; "|"))) | Separator |

| Remove the end | Removes this text if the cell ends with it (otherwise nothing changes). | IF(RIGHT(A2; LEN("t"))="t"; LEFT(A2; LEN(A2)-LEN("t")); A2) | End to remove |

| Delete characters at a position | Deletes N characters from a position. | REPLACE(A2; position; n; "") | Start position (1 = start) · Number of characters |
Group: Numbers and prices
| Transformation | What it does | Google Sheets equivalent | What it asks for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arithmetic on a number | Divides, multiplies, adds, subtracts or rounds a price or quantity. E.g. cents → euros: divide by 100. | =A2/100 | Operation: Divide by, Multiply by, Add, Subtract, Round to N decimals · Value |
| Decimal comma → point | Rewrites a number such as “12,99 €” or “1.234,50” as 12.99 / 1234.5. | VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(A2; ","; ".")) | Nothing |
Group: URL, slug, HTML
| Transformation | What it does | Google Sheets equivalent | What it asks for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Make a slug | Lowercase, no accents, words joined by hyphens: “Vodka Blanc 37,5%” → vodka-blanc-37-5. | LOWER(REGEXREPLACE(A2; "[^a-z0-9]+"; "-")) | Maximum length (0 = unlimited) |
| Strip HTML | Removes <p>, <br>… tags and keeps the text. | REGEXREPLACE(A2; "<[^>]+>"; "") | Nothing |
| Clean up the code | Makes a text that contains HTML code readable (tags such as <p> and <li>, entities such as & and ″), for example the “Body (HTML)” column. Then pick the mode. | REGEXREPLACE(SUBSTITUTE(A2; "<li>"; "• "); "<[^>]+>"; "") | Mode: Text only, Clean HTML |
The two modes of Clean up the code
- Text only: Removes every tag and turns the entities (″, &, &, …) into characters. Each <li> becomes a “• …” line; <br> and every paragraph, heading, list or table row start a new line. Scripts, styles and comments go with their content, and so do double spaces and empty lines. An HTML column (such as “Body (HTML)”) does not show line breaks: pick “Clean HTML” there instead.
- Clean HTML: Keeps only the structure tags p, br, ul, ol, li, strong, em, h2 to h4, table, tr, th, td (b becomes strong, i becomes em, h1 becomes h2, h5 and h6 become h4). Removes attributes (style, class…), scripts, styles and comments, the other tags (links, images, div…) while keeping their text, then the tags left empty, except table cells. Turns entities into characters, except <, > and &, which stay written <, > and &.
Group: Columns
These transformations work on a whole column: the Only for rows where condition does not exist for them. Join several columns and Add a column create a column and do not ask for a starting column.
| Transformation | What it does | Google Sheets equivalent | What it asks for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rename the column | Changes the column name (its values stay). | (renommer l’en-tête) | New name |
| Duplicate the column | Creates a copy of the column that can then be transformed without touching the original (e.g. a slug from the title). | =A2 (nouvelle colonne) | Name of the copy |
| Add a column | Adds a column with a fixed value. | ="valeur" (nouvelle colonne) | Column name · Value |
| Join several columns | Creates a column by joining the content of several columns (e.g. brand + name). | TEXTJOIN(" "; TRUE; A2; B2) | Columns to join (one tick box per column) · Separator · New column name |
| Copy the first words of another column | Fills this column with the start of another one (e.g. the brand = first word of the title). For multi-word brands, put them in the list (or pick the word count on an example row): the list is then applied to every row. | REGEXEXTRACT(B2; "^\S+") | Copy from column (list of the columns) · Default number of words · Multi-word names (one per line) · Only if the cell is empty (tick box) |
| Compose from other columns | Writes a text where you place what you want: {ColumnName} inserts a column’s content, {this} the current content of the cell. E.g. “{Vendor} - {this}”. | =B2 & " - " & A2 | Text (with {column} and {this}) |
| Delete the column | Removes the column from the file before conversion. | (supprimer la colonne) | Nothing |
Quick recipes
The recipes, at the top of the What to do? list, chain one or two transformations on the chosen column. They are added like the transformations they contain, and each of these then appears on its own in the list of the box.
| Recipe | Transformations added |
|---|---|
| Prices in cents → euros | Arithmetic on a number: Divide by 100 |
| Remove the “|” from a title | Change the separator: | → a space |
| Remove repeated parts and words | Remove repeated parts: | |
| Create a clean slug from this column | Duplicate the column: to <column>_slug, then Make a slug on the copy |
| Values after “:” joined with “-” | Keep what comes after a text: :, then Change the separator: / → - |
| Clean the spaces of this column | Clean spaces |
Conditions
Only for rows where limits a transformation to the rows that meet a condition. By default, (all rows): every row is transformed. The condition applies to the transformed column ((this column)) or to another column of the same row, and capital letters do not matter. The comparisons on offer:
- contains: the text is somewhere in the cell;
- is exactly: the cell contains this text, and nothing else;
- starts with and ends with: the cell starts or ends with this text;
- is empty and is not empty: no text to type; a cell that only holds spaces counts as empty.
Messages in the window
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Fill in the requested fields. | A required field is empty: the name of the column you rename, copy, add or join, the starting column of Copy the first words of another column, the text of Compose from other columns, or fewer than two columns ticked for Join several columns. |
| A column already has this name. | The name chosen for a column you rename, copy, add or join is already used by another column. |
| This column does not exist (any more). | The column you chose does not exist in the file as it is at that point. |
| Invalid pattern. | The Pattern of Replace (advanced pattern) or of Extract with a pattern is empty, badly written, or longer than 300 characters. The message only appears if the transformation affects at least one of the first 200 rows. |
