How-to guide
Point out a price or a field in the extension's panel
The Scraper reads most product pages on its own. When it misses a field or reads it wrongly, you show it where the field is: one click on 🎯, one click on the page, and it is noted. Teach it once in the Fiche produit (Product page) tab, and it then works on every product page of the site.

In short
Open the product page in Chrome or Edge, open the extension's panel, click 🎯 next to the field, then click the right spot on the page. The panel shows what it read. Then, in the Fiche produit tab, click ✓ Enregistrer ce champ (Save this field): the rule applies to the whole site.
The case: the page of a maple syrup at a fictitious supplier, fournisseur-demo.example.com/p/sirop-erable. Its price is written in two parts, “12” in large type then “90” in small type, and the syrup comes in two sizes that each have their own price. You want the right price, both sizes, and the page's title for your shop.
Before you read a site
Check the site's terms of use and the rights to its content (text, photos, trademarks) before you read or reuse it. Each user remains responsible for how they use the data they read. This note is general information, not legal advice.
Before you start
- Eloshon Scraper is open on your computer, and the Eloshon Scraper extension is installed in Chrome or Edge. At the top right of the panel, a green dot and the words app connectée (app connected) tell you that the extension is talking to the app. If you see a red dot, app hors ligne (app offline) and the yellow box Mode extension seule : l’application ne répond pas (extension-only mode: the app is not responding), open the app first.
- The site is allowed. If it is not, click the Activer ce site (Activate this site) button, on the site's row, just below the panel's title.
- The extension's panel only exists in French. For each recent feature, this page gives the version of the app it first appeared in.
The panel at a glance
The panel opens at the side of the browser when you click the extension's icon in the toolbar. From top to bottom:
- The site's row: its address, its status (Activer ce site if it is not allowed yet) and the ▶ Exécuter (Run) button, which reads the open page.
- The tabs: Champs (Fields) for the columns of the open page, Fiche produit to teach the site on a product page, Agent, Pages, Résultats (Results) to see what was read, and Réglages (Settings).
- In the Champs tab, the list of fields: the name, the price, the brand… Each field has a 🎯 button to the right of its name (Désigner à la souris, meaning “point with the mouse”), and its Rôle pour le Converter (role for the Converter) list below it.
What about the assistance buttons?
The two detection buttons, ✨ Détecter par IA and ✨ Détecter par IA (cette fiche), suggest fields on their own: first through automatic detection, then with the assistance when it is set up in the app. The Agent tab only answers if the assistance is set up. What they suggest needs checking like everything else. This page shows the method by hand, with 🎯: it does not depend on any assistance. The platforms and sites the Scraper already knows: Platforms and sites the Scraper already knows.
Point out the price, step by step
- Open the page in your browser, then the extension's panel.
- In the Champs tab, find the price row and click its 🎯 button (Désigner à la souris), to the right of the name.
- On the page, click the price.
- Go back to the panel and read the field's row: after exemple (example), the text of the page (“1290”); after montant lu (amount read), the amount the scraping will keep (12.9).
On a listing page, a field pointed out in the Champs tab applies to every product card, and it is kept for the site. On a product page, it only applies to that page: to teach it to the whole site, use the Fiche produit tab (further down).
What the Scraper does with the price you point out
From version 0.5.66:
- Prices in parts. A price written “12” then “90” in small type, with nothing between them, is taken as a whole: a click on the euros or on the cents frames the whole price.
- Text around the price. “/pce” (per piece), “àpd 24 pcs” (from 24 pieces) or “inclus TVA” (VAT included) are not part of the amount: “0,75/pce” gives 0.75.
- A one-cent gap. The price shown is compared with the price the page declares in its hidden data. A gap of one cent is accepted, for example 19.12 shown and 19.13 declared after a rounded discount. The crossed-out price next to it is accepted too.
Where the currency comes from
From version 0.5.66, when the price you point out shows no currency (“0,75/pce”), the Scraper looks for it in this order:
- the currency the page declares in its hidden data;
- the most frequent currency among the other prices written on the page;
- the country of the page's language (
fr-BEgives the euro); - the country of the site's address (
.begives the euro).
If none of these gives a currency, for example on a .com page that neither declares nor writes one and whose language names no country (fr alone), the price is refused in the Fiche produit tab, with the reason prix sans devise (ni dans le bloc ni sur la page) (price without a currency, neither in the block nor on the page).
When each option has its own price
From version 0.5.69, for sizes like “250 ml 12,90 €” and “1 L 39,00 €”, the price of the option shown (the selected one, otherwise the first one) is accepted as the price, even if the page declares another price in its data. The price of another option is refused in the Fiche produit tab, with the reason ne correspond pas au prix que la page déclare (…), meaning “does not match the price the page declares”.
Teach a field for the whole site
The Fiche produit tab teaches the Scraper where each field is on the site's product pages. Later, when you read a list of products from this site and click ✓ Accepter (Accept) in the Résultats tab, the app opens each product page and reads these fields there.
- Open a product page of the site, then the Fiche produit tab of the panel (the second tab).
- On the field's row, click the 🎯 button, at the far right, then click the block of the field on the page.
- Read the box that appears: Compris (Understood), followed by the value read, means it is right; Non retenu (Not accepted), followed by a reason, means this block is not suitable: try again on another block.
- Click the ✓ Enregistrer ce champ button. The app then checks the rule on a few other product pages of the site. No need to wait: you can point out the next field.
The result of the check is shown under the field and in the Ce que le site sait déjà (what the site already knows) list, with the number of product pages where the rule worked.
Checking in your browser
Some sites only build the price or a block in the browser: the product pages downloaded directly do not contain it. From version 0.5.67, the check is then done again in your browser, on 4 product pages at most, opened in a minimised window, and the message starts with “Vérifiée sur …” (checked on …). Before that version, the rule seemed to fail everywhere when it was in fact right. If a product page asks you to prove you are human, answer in that browser, then click revérifier (check again).
Add a field and choose its role
In the Fiche produit tab, type the name of the new field in the box at the top of the list (for example “Contenance”, the volume of the bottle), then click + Champ (+ Field). The field appears at the bottom of the list, with its Rôle pour le Converter list: this list tells the Converter what to do with the column.
From version 0.5.70, the role also changes what 🎯 reads in the block you point out:
- variantes (liste avec prix): the options, with their price and their item number. They become the product's variants: a list pointed out with 🎯 takes priority over the variants read automatically.
- option (axe de variantes) (option, a variant axis), taille (size) or couleur (colour): the names of the options, for example “250 ml | 1 L”.
- One click on a single button of the group of options is enough: the whole group is taken.
Since version 0.5.69, the name of an option no longer contains the hidden copy meant for screen readers (“250 ml”, not “250 ml 250 ml”), and the item number of an option, when the page gives one, becomes its code.
The page's SEO title and description
The SEO title and the SEO description are the texts Google shows in its results. The panel gets them in three ways:
- From version 0.5.71, the 🔎 Analyser la page (Analyse the page) button suggests Titre SEO (SEO title), the page's title (otherwise its title for sharing on social networks), and Description SEO (SEO description), its description (otherwise its description for sharing), and says where they come from. A page that has none suggests none: nothing is made up.
- On a site already learnt, the ▶ Exécuter preview fills in these two columns from the product pages it opens (from version 0.5.71). A value you taught yourself comes first.
- After ✓ Accepter, in the Résultats tab, the two columns come from each product page read (from version 0.5.70) and go into the CSV file and its manifest.
These texts are copied exactly as the site writes them, site name included. The Converter cleans them up later, before the import: Eloshon Scraper files: weight, SEO, dimensions.
Check
- Open the page with the list of products, then click the ▶ Exécuter button, at the top right of the panel.
- Open the Résultats tab: each product should have its price, its options and the columns you added.
- What the Poids (Weight), Prix unitaire (Unit price) and other columns contain: Weight, unit price, SEO: what the columns hold.
